The increasing awareness of deleterious effects of indiscriminate use of chemical fertilizer and pesticide in agriculture has led to the adoption of organic farming as an alternative method for conventional farming worldwide.
 

In India about 65 percent of the cropped area is un-irrigated where the farming practices are still largely “ organic by defaults “ and yet they produce sufficient food. Uses the chemical fertilizers are comparatively low in eastern and northeastern parts of the county and yet there is sufficient food production.
